AP Capstone Diploma (CollegeBoard)

Available Courses:

  • Computer Science Principles, Computer Science A, Human Geography, Art History, Chinese/French/Italian/Spanish Language & Culture, Spanish Lang. (Speakers), Statistics, Calculus AB/BC, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1/2/C, Precalculus, Psychology, Macro/Micro Economics, Government/Comp. Gov't, US/European History, Business (New), Cyber Security (New), Music Theory, 2D/3D Art, Drawing, English Language/Literature

Diploma Requirements:

  • AP Seminar (Year 1) and AP Research (Year 2): Must earn a score of 3 or higher in both
  • 4 AP Exams throughout high school: Score of 3 or higher required
  • AP Seminar can be taken in grades 10–12
  • Students have 4 years to earn the diploma
  • Florida Academic Award (Bright Futures) eligibility with 100 community hours

  • Classes in bold are available for 9th grade students
  • College Board has not finalized which courses count for certain awards

Cambridge AICE Diploma Subject Groups & Core

Group 1: Math & Science

  • Biology AS, Environmental Mgmt AS*, Marine Science AS, Math AS/A, Psychology AS/A*, Computer Science AS/A or Info Tech AS/A

Group 2: Language Arts

  • Chinese AS, English Language AS/A, French Language AS, Spanish Language AS, Spanish Literature A

Group 3: Art & Humanities

  • Art and Design AS, Biblical Studies, Business AS/A, Classical Studies AS/A, Literature in English AS/A, Environmental Mgmt AS*, History (Euro/US) AS, Media Studies AS/A, Music AS, Psychology AS/A*, Sociology AS/A, Travel & Tourism AS

Group 4: Interdisciplinary (Optional)

  • English General Paper (Required for all), Thinking Skills AS/A, Global Perspectives A
    Only 2 points maximum can be used in this group for the diploma

Required Core:

  • Global Perspectives AS (11th or 12th Grade)

Diploma Requirements:

  • Earn at least 7 classes in 3 consecutive school years (25 months)
  • 1 course from Groups 1, 2, and 3, plus Global Perspectives
  • 100 service hours for highest Bright Futures (Florida Academic)

Notes:

  • Environmental Mgmt AS* and Psychology AS/A* can count in Groups 1 or 3
