Counseling & Services

School Counselors play a vital role in helping students succeed by implementing a comprehensive counseling plan each year. They provide a wide range of services that support students’ growth in academics, life skills, mental health, and college, career, and life readiness.

Counselors use data to guide and enhance their programs, aligning their work with Florida’s standards and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. This framework directs their efforts in individual counseling, small group sessions, and classroom lessons.

In addition, School Counselors offer valuable resources to students, families, and staff to promote a supportive and safe learning environment that encourages personal growth and success both in school and beyond.

Dear Students and Parents, Please be advised that student service hours for grades 9–11 will no longer be accepted after May 20th. This deadline allows us to enter and process all submissions on time, ensuring that District deadlines are met. All required hours must be completed and submitted by this date. Hours will be accepted again starting September 1, 2026. Start of the new school year. Please note that, as of this year, we will only accept service hours completed in 2024-25 or later. We urge all students to get their summer hours approved before committing them to a location. We encourage students to use www.handsonsouthflorida.org or https://www.volunteerflorida.org/ These two sites have a list of already approved locations for our CBHS students to complete their hours. Please plan accordingly to ensure all service requirements are fulfilled. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with the school office.
